SIMON Graf is the new general manager of Hyatt Regency Saipan.
Originally from Berlin, Germany, Graf has been with the Hyatt for over 20 years now with stints in China, South Korea and Vietnam.
Graf is experienced and knowledgeable in every hotel function related to operation.
After graduating with a degree in hotel management from Hotelfachschule Berlin, Graf joined the Hyatt family as a night cashier at Grand Hyatt Berlin in 2002.
For the next 17 years, Graf performed front office, room and management roles at Grand Hyatt Berlin, Hyatt Regency Hangzhou, Andaz Xintiandi Shanghai, Park Hyatt Sanya Sunny Bay Resort, and Grand Hyatt Incheon.
His first assignment as a general manager was at Nam Nghi Phu Quoc in Vietnam in 2019.
Graf also worked on multiple projects alongside the Hyatt Hub in Hong Kong, and was involved in the roll out of hygiene standards.
He was likewise instrumental in the creation of in-house standards and regional guiding disciplines.
In 2021, he was named general manager of the prestigious Park Hyatt Busan in South Korea, also known as Asia’s largest Park Hyatt hotel by guest room count.
During his free time, Graf enjoyed strolling through cities and exploring modern art galleries and design museums whenever possible.
Nowadays, he said, “I’ve been watching on repeat ‘Pretend It’s a City,’ a documentary featuring Fran Lebowitz and Martin Scorsese. Fran’s stories make me laugh every time.”
2023 has been an exciting year for Graf as he anchors himself in the CNMI.
“I am looking forward to being a part of the legendary Hyatt Regency Saipan,” he said. “It will be a key moment in the resort’s history as plans are being put together for a full renovation.”
