SAFETY Management System pays tribute to the late Jack Kabiriel who helped its owner, Kevin Tang, build the company.
Kabiriel, who had cancer, passed away on March 25, 2023. He was 46.
In an interview, Tang said the company will continue to provide the local community with quality safety and security equipment and products, because that was the goal of Kabiriel who served as the store’s manager since its establishment in 2019.
By living up to the legacy left behind by Kabiriel, the management and employees of Safety Management System will continue to honor him, Tang said. This legacy, he added, includes products that meet high quality standards, and federally certified employees tasked to install safety and security equipment.
Tang said, based on Kabiriel’s advice, they sent most of their staff to the U.S. to attend certification training sessions in handling products and services such as hazmat safety management, fire safety devices and security equipment installations.
“We are saddened by the passing of our beloved GM Jack Kabiriel. We extend our condolences to his family — his wife, Pat, and children, Kaden, Koen, KJ and Gabby. We really value his services and performance,” Tang said.
Tang said if not for Kabiriel, he would not have known the importance of safety products and services to the community.
He said he asked Kabiriel to manage the store since it was his idea.
As customers started coming, Tang said he further realized how important their products and services are not only to households but also to private businesses and public facilities.
“I also started explaining to the members of the Chinese community here on Saipan why their businesses need to comply with U.S. standard safety measures,” Tang said.
Tang said he and Kabiriel educated many Chinese business owners about federal safety compliance, the building code, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration rules, fire and other U.S. safety rules.
“I really appreciate that Jack came to me and chose me to be his partner in achieving these goals,” Tang said.
“Even though Jack is no longer with us, the company will continue to serve the community well — that is his legacy,” Tang said.
