A passionate diver himself, owner Jay Wolfe has more than 5,000 dives over his 23 years as a diver.
When founder Harry Blalock retired, Wolfe said he took over the business and continued to focus on small group dive tours and training, with a focus on exceptional customer service.
In addition to recreational diving courses and diving tours, Axe Murderer is the only certified technical diving school in Saipan. Under their technical program, they provide training and guided dives in both open circuit and rebreather diving. Wolfe stated that Axe can support the needs of both recreational and technical divers.
Is there a murderer?
Wolfe said tourists and community members alike are curious about the origin of their name.
“Even if we have a funny name, we are serious about our diving instruction and programs. If you want to know the origin of our name, come dive with us and we will tell you during one of our dives,” he said.
Axe Murderer Tours is open tovisitors and community members who explore the world beneath the Marianas waters. “There are so many beautiful things in the Marianas’ oceans. The creatures and structures surrounding Saipan are great for divers of any level. Saipan is unique because we have a mix of reef, caverns and wrecks for divers to explore,” he said. “To top it off, Saipan has warm water and world-class visibility.”

Axe Murderer Tours is a PADI 5-Star Dive Center, and is also a dive center under Technical Diving International and Scuba Diving International. Axe is also a PADI TecRec center.

Discover Dive
Designed for individuals who are not certified but are interested to experience what it is like to scuba dive.
“We cover the basics and go to a site like Lau LauBeach for a dive down to 40 feet or 12meters,” Wolfe said.

Open Water
An Open Water certification can be accomplished during a vacation or over a few weekends.
“You will go through several sessions of confined water training, and then four open water dives. I recommend completing the bookwork either online through PADI e-learning, or use their app,” he said.

A one–stop shop for your diving needs, Axe Murderer Tours is also equipped with all the gear one needs for diving.
They offer gear rental for visiting and local divers and also carry a variety of retail diving gear. Axeis a dealer for Dive Rite equipment as well as Garmin dive computers and equipment, and Tovatec dive lights. Axe also sells rash guards and dive T-shirts featuring Saipan dive sites and Saipan diving signals.
