THE Falcons clinched their second win in the Tan Holdings Saipan Baseball League by edging the Bandits, 9-8, on Wednesday at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Baseball Field.
The Bandits opened the inning with an RBI single by Ben Taisacan to take the lead. Defensively, however, they struggled as they allowed the Falcons’ first two-at-bat free passes via walk with Jordan Suel bringing them home for a two-RBI triple. He, in turn, was brought in by Henry Aguon.
The Falcons continued to soar higher with three more runs in the bottom of the second for a 6-1 lead.
The next two innings were scoreless, but the Bandits broke the silence in the top of the fifth as the Falcons’ pitcher struggled to find the strike zone, allowing three runs to slip by. The Falcons, however, scored one run and retained the lead, 7-4.
In the top of the seventh inning, the Bandits staged a comeback, thanks to the double connected by Wally Emu who brought in three runners to even the score, 7-7, and force the extra inning.
The Bandits rode the momentum with Harry Nakamura connecting an RBI single. But the Falcons scored two runs to overtake the Bandits and clinch victory, 9-8.
The Falcons’ RJ Riungel pitches against the SPC Survivors during a Tan Holdings Saipan Baseball League game at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Baseball Field.
