MORE than 15 dogs were treated during the first day of Saipan Humane Society’s veterinary outreach clinic at the Saipan Dog Control Clinic on Tuesday.
The clinic will continue today, Wednesday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for pet owners to ensure your furry companions are protected against fleas, ticks, and common diseases with Bravecto and essential vaccines,” a statement from the Saipan Humane Society said.
It is working closely with veterinarians from Guam through an online conference as they do checkups and provide treatment.
“Services for pets such as dogs are very limited here on island. Even getting pet supplies is very difficult especially when your pet is sick. We are grateful that the Saipan Humane Society conducts clinics such as this to provide the necessary treatments such as vaccines,” said Patricia Baldonadi, a pet owner told Variety in an interview.
Baldonadi said during the pandemic she observed that many people became interested in adopting pets, but there were fewer pet services and products available on island.
“This clinic gave us access to the service our pet needs so that we as owners can give them better, happy and healthy lives,” she said.
Jamaal Mresbang, another pet owner, also expressed his gratitude to the Saipan Humane Society for conducting a clinic.
“Not a lot of places provide vaccine services to us pet owners or even the care our pets need when they need it. It’s good to know that there are services from organizations like the Saipan Humane Society,” he said.
