At the US Embassy in Japan

Governor Arnold I. Palacios met with U.S. Embassy Japan Minister-Counselor Alan R. Turley earlier this week as part of the CNMI’s efforts to strengthen government partnerships and expand Japanese investment and the tourism market to the Commonwealth. With Palacios and Turley were U.S. Commercial Service Senior Commercial Specialist Tamami Honda, U.S. Commercial Officer Daniel Lew, and Marianas Visitors Authority officials. Their discussion focused on how the CNMI can partner with the U.S. Embassy to promote investments and travel from Japan to the islands. Turley leads a team of 36 U.S. Commercial Service professionals in Tokyo and Osaka who are dedicated to promoting closer trade and economic ties between the United States and Japan. Governor Palacios is in Japan this week for a three-day visit to meet with high-level Japanese government representatives, travel representatives, airline representatives, and other travel-related organizations.
