UNITED Airlines ticketing website, United.com, does not indicate an increase in airfare for the Saipan-Guam route.
According to United Airlines, “In general, fares vary depending on many factors such as travel demand, travel dates, seasonality, and others. United offers Guam and Northern Mariana Islands resident fares. These fares can be accessed by updating your location on United’s website (united.com) to Guam or the Northern Mariana Islands, or by visiting your local travel agency or the Guam United City Ticket Office. We continue to try to offer a variety of fares to meet the demand of our customers.”
CNMI residents are advised to go to the United website, click the globe icon at the top right side and select “Northern Mariana Islands” before searching for flights.
As of Monday, a United Airlines basic economy roundtrip ticket to Guam cost $396.
Marianas Southern Airways’ Saipan-Guam flight service costs $99 while Star Marianas’ Rota to Guam flight costs about $120.
