Dodgeball for kids at PIC

PACIFIC Islands Club Saipan will host a dodgeball tournament for elementary grade school children on Nov. 19, Saturday, starting at 8:30 a.m.

There is a 16-team limit. It will be first come, first served, and there will be a pool play seeding event in the morning. The elimination bracket will begin in the afternoon.

Each team must have 10 elementary grade students, at least two of whom are girls.

Opening rush starts with six players each on both sides of the court, and two ball retrievers per team.

This year’s champion will take home $500 worth of sporting equipment and trophies.

“We want to promote good sportsmanship and a healthy exercise,” PIC Saipan General Manager Dennis Seo said. “Dodgeball has always been one of my favorite sports which I played with my friends when I was young,” he added. “I am looking forward to seeing all the kids come out and play!”

“Kids, it’s time to take a break from your mobile devices,”  Tournament Director Dennis Tababa said. “Time to come outside, pick up a ball, and have some fun dodging, ducking, diving, and throwing dodgeballs!”
