ARL Ichihara Norita, 44, was arrested after he pointed a BB gun at a Kagman resident last week.
Norita was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, and disturbing the peace.
At a bail hearing on Monday, Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho imposed a $5,000 cash bail on the defendant who was remanded to the custody of the Department of Corrections after the hearing.
Norita was represented by Assistant Public Defender Karie Comstock while Assistant Attorney General Heather Barcinas appeared for the government.
According to the complaint against Norita, a Kagman resident told police that on the evening of Sept. 30, 2022 he was outside his shack when he saw a dark blue vehicle parked on the northern side of the roadway. The car’s headlights were turned off, the Kagman resident added.
He said when he approached the car it took off.
When it came back, he said he approached it, but the vehicle took off again.
At about 8:45 p.m., the same vehicle came back and parked on the roadway in front of a residence, the Kagman resident said.
He said this time, the driver, who was later identified as Norita, got out of the vehicle and called him, the Kagman resident, while holding what appeared to be a gun in his right hand.
The Kagman resident said he did not know Norita.
As he walked toward Norita, the Kagman resident said Norita’s gun was pointed at him, the Kagman resident.
He said he told Norita, “Shoot — if you are not going to shoot, I am calling the police.”
He said when Norita got back inside his car, the Kagman resident called 911.
When responding police officers searched the Blue Kia Sedona vehicle of Norita, they found one pellet gun and a BB gun pistol.
