“A QUARTER of Silence,” a short film written and directed by Tonny Yang of Saipan, will premiere at the Silver State Film Festival, the San Francisco Short Film Festival and the Mentone Film Festival, and will be streamed on the Shorts Roku Channel.
“A Quarter of Silence” revolves around two young parents who have lost their drive for affection but go through one night of silence that reignites their proclivity for love.
Tonny Yang, 23, is the son of Ke Yang and Jessica Liu. Tonny graduated from Marianas High School and went on to complete the bachelor of cinema program at the San Francisco State University.
Growing up on Saipan, he always had an interest in storytelling through film. Yang has also directed and participated in films such as “Fake It,” “In Men We Trust,” “Flutter” and many more.
“A Quarter of Silence” will premiere at the Century Theater of the New Orleans Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada as part of the Silver State Film Festival on Oct. 29, 2022 at 9:30 p.m.; at the Maya Cinema Theater in Pittsburg, California as part of the San Francisco Short Film Festival on Oct. 28, 2022 at 6 p.m.; and at the Mentone Film Festival on Nov. 11, 2022.
