THE Red Men collected their third win in the 2022 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball League by dominating Aimeliik, 17-3, Sunday at Dandan baseball field.
The Red Men displayed their power from the plate as they recorded several homeruns throughout the game.
After quickly gaining three outs in the top of the opening inning, the Red Men’s Ton Pangelinan hit a 3-run homer while his team squeezed two more runs for a 5-0 spread.
In the second inning, Aimeliik stayed silent while the Red Men extended their lead with four more runs after Pangelinan connected his second 1-run homer followed by another solo homerun by Jun Reyes.
Aimeliik finally got out of the gutter in the top of the third inning with a single run, but the Red Men responded with a five-run assault assisted by Aimeliik’s errors and a 1-run homer by Payton Sakuma to lead comfortably, 14-1.
Aimeliik tried to stay alive with two runs in the next inning but the Red Men scored three runs led by Sakuma’s second homerun paired with 2 RBIs to stay in control.
Aimeliik was scoreless in the top of the fifth inning, and so the game ended early thanks to the mercy rule. The Red Men won 17-3.
Winners, too
Tokahao, for their part, outplayed Momma Charu, 13-2. Tokahao’s Clint Quitugua hit two homeruns and four RBIs while team mates Jesse Delos Santos, George David and Mario Villagomez contributed a homer each.
As for Asahi, they scored a blowout victory against the Salty Boys, 25-5. Asahi’s Steve Brel filled the stat sheets with a total of 6 RBIs with two successful hits at bat.
