THE daughter of Romeo Magno Gatchalian is asking the local community to assist her and her family in locating her father.
Myla B. Gatchalian, who is in the Philippines, said her father, also known as “Ome” or Baldo,” came to Saipan in 1995 to work as a carpenter.
“In the first week of December 2000, we received information that my father was one of the individuals taken by a person who was trying to rob a grocery store. After that we have not received new information about what really happened to him,” Myla Gatchalian said.
“To all the people and friends of my father who are still there [on Saipan] please help us find him. We have been looking for him for the last 22 years,” she added.
“Father, if you are reading this, I’m also begging you to let us know where you are or what you are doing right now. I want you to know that whatever happened to you, you are always welcome here in the Philippines with us, on our side. We want you to go back home because we…love you. Please come back, our family needs you. Your wife, your siblings, and mostly your mother. Our grandma Patricia ‘Patting’ Gatchalian who is 96 years old now is really sick…. She has been asking for you. She really believes in her heart that you are still there in Saipan and alive. Please come back home,” Myla Gatchalian said.
If you have any information regarding Romeo Magno Gatchalian’s whereabouts, please call Marcelo “Mar” Masilungan, United Filipino Organization president, at (670) 483-9440 or email mar@supertechsaipan.com/.
Masilungan said he has been authorized by Myla Gatchalian to coordinate with CNMI authorities and check the official records of Romeo Magno Gatchalian on Saipan.
Masilungan also asked the community for assistance.
“His mother is 96 years old and has been sick, and all she says is she wants to see her son before she goes. Please help his family in the Philippines to have closure,” Masilungan added.
