September is Chamorro and Carolinian Cultural Heritage Month

GOVERNOR Ralph DLG Torres on Saturday signed a proclamation designating September as Chamorro and Carolinian Cultural Heritage Month. The proclamation also stated that Sept. 23 will be dedicated to commemorate the 36th anniversary of the 13 fishermen lost at sea while Sept. 24 will be dedicated to Chief Aghurubw, and all other traditional Maga’låhi and Samwool. “I urge the entire CNMI community to take this opportunity to celebrate our unique cultural heritage, through our attire, music, dance, language, and traditions,” the governor said.
