She also serves as manager/administrative director for a professional service firm, ARI, Ltd.; board treasurer for Latte Training Academy; and handles the finances and assists with the operations of The Next Level Thrift and Consignment Shop.

In addition, she is a member of the Soroptimist International-NMI Chapter, a non-profit organization that assists women and girls in gaining access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment.

Prior to assuming her role as the new chamber executive director, Camacho served as a bank teller at First Hawaiian Bank; office manager for Pinnacle Staffing LLC; vice chair for the CNMI Public School System Head Start Policy Council; and president of the Central Parent Involvement Committee.

She brings 13 years of administrative experience and seven years of management experience to her new role.

“I am just a [well-rounded] person. I adapt very well to my surroundings. Give me a task and I will tackle it head on,” said Camacho in an interview with Variety on Thursday.

She said she applied for her new role after much encouragement from her colleagues and mentors.

“I saw the opportunity to level up professionally and I gave it a chance. I doubted my selection, but when I was offered the position, my initial reaction was, ‘This has got to be a joke,’ but soon after, I gave myself a pep talk and took on the challenge. I feel that this new position will allow me to grow professionally. I always try to look at obstacles and challenges as opportunities, so this is just another opportunity for me to grow,” she said.

Camacho said she has spent the past 31 years of her personal and professional life on Saipan, where she now raises her two sons.

“I have not left the island. Although that was in my future plans as a young individual, I could never find myself leaving because everything that makes my life is here on Saipan,” she said.

She noted that the chamber has seen and overcome many challenges, including major natural disasters and a recent pandemic.

“While we continue to rebuild and adapt to our new normal, one of my immediate priorities at the chamber is to rebuild our network and services for our members to ensure that you get the best out of their investment with the chamber,” Camacho said.

“It is my goal to revitalize our programs, committees, and training opportunities to provide added value to your membership with active participation and involvement. We have a solid foundation established, thanks to our past leaders at the chamber. I look forward to serving you all at my best capacity. Know that my door is always open to chamber members and interested members of the community.”
