HAGU Lamun are now among the top three teams in the men’s division of the Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball League after earning their third win by outscoring SUFA, 17-12, Sunday at the Dandan baseball field.
The visiting team, Hagu Lamun scored two runs in the first inning but SUFA quickly tipped the scales in the bottom of the inning after Hagu Lamun committed several errors that allowed six runs, giving SUFA the lead, 6-2.
Hagu Lamun gradually worked their way back within reach, closing the gap, 6-5, in the top of the third inning. However, SUFA retaliated once again with two runs courtesy of Tom Camacho and Jun Salalila with an RBI each to widen their lead, 8-5.
But Hagu Lamun’s relentless efforts finally paid off in the top of the fifth inning with Deshawn Reign’s sacrifice play that earned two RBIs. With the bases refilled, Henry Lizama then took the spotlight with a three-run homer as Hagu Lamun seized the lead, 10-8.
Then in the top of the seventh and final inning, Hagu Lamun sealed the deal, 17-12, with seven runs against SUFA’s four.

Momma Charu joined the winner’s circle by taking down Ameliik, 12-9, while Tokahao bagged a blowout victory over Asahi, 14-2.
