ON Wednesday, a viral video of what appeared to be a shoplifting incident surfaced, allegedly involving two doctors at the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation.
An ABC Store Saipan staffer confirmed to Variety that the incident occurred on Sept. 1 and said a complaint had been filed with the Department of Public Safety. The staffer declined to provide additional information about the incident, citing the pending complaint with the police.
The viral video showed a woman in a blue dress appearing to place an item in her bag at ABC Store, a tourist shop on Hotel Street in Garapan. She was accompanied by a man, said to be her husband.
Drs. Geoffrey Fraiche and Laura Webb — identified as the woman in the blue dress — are listed as gynecologists at CHCC.
An attorney for the two doctors told Variety that the reported incident was not “accurate” and that they would issue a statement soon.
Asked for comment, CHCC said it “doesn’t have a statement on the alleged incident.”
Police are investigating the incident but have not issued an official statement, DPS Public Information Officer Fred Sato said Thursday.
In 2020, the couple faced multiple misdemeanor charges after climbing a flagpole on private property to steal a “Trump 2020” flag, according to the Pensacola News Journal.
Fraiche and Webb were each charged with property damage, trespassing, petit theft, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor in that case.
