Soudelor Construction leads SBA Thursday League

BAMBOO Soudelor Construction has claimed the top spot in the Thursday Division of the SBA Budweiser Open 8-Ball League after nearly silencing the 9 Eleven Rebels 2, 12-1, on Thursday at the 9 Eleven Restobar.

The Rebels 2 drew first blood in the opening Singles 8-Ball game thanks to Arlon Buensalida who defeated Maverick Espinosa for a 1-0 lead.

Soudelor Construction then took over the rest of the match.

It started with Frankie Blas, Ryan Barlaw and Chris Manalo snatching the remaining three rounds and continued with Rolly Villanueva in the Partners 8-Ball game for a two-win sweep.

No matter what the Rebels 2 threw at them, Soudelor Construction continued their  assault, sweeping the rest of the games for a blowout victory, 12-1.

Soudelor Construction is now the number one team in the standings with a total of 112 wins.

Kabalen vs Crazy Ballers

In second place is Bamboo Kabalen with 111 wins after outplaying the 9 Eleven Crazy Ballers, 8-5.

The Crazy Ballers grasped the early lead as Victor Formales, Oliver Gragasin and Joel Bunag pulled a 3-1 run in the Singles 8-Ball game. They tried to maintain control by splitting the following Partners 8-Ball game, but Kabalen bounced back in the second individual game as Albert Pangilinan, Jerry Soriano, Robert Sanciangco and Jesse Guerra came out victorious for a four-win sweep and a 6-4 lead.

Kabalen scored another sweep in the second Partners 8-Ball match to secure the win. The Crazy Ballers bagged one more win before settling for defeat, 5-8.

Joining the winner’s circle were VFW No Regrets who edged the Last Shot Eleven Tiger, 7-6; and the VFW IT&E Homeboyz who outlasted SCS Just Chillin’, 7-6.
