THE Saipan Falun Dafa Association held a peaceful candlelight vigil at their office in Garapan on the evening of July 20 to commemorate the 23rd anniversary of the persecution of Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, that was initiated by the Chinese Communist Party.
Falun Dafa practitioners held candles while they mourned practitioners in mainland China who were persecuted to death by the CCP because of their refusal to give up their beliefs.
Falun Dafa practitioners said they want the world to recognize the evil nature of the CCP, and to jointly stop the CCP’s “brutal persecution” of Falun Dafa.
Falun Dafa is a peaceful spiritual practice rooted in traditional Chinese culture, its proponents said.
Falun Dafa “consists of meditation exercises, and a moral philosophy centered on the values of truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance.”
“Falun Dafa has won the hearts and minds of the world, and the world is speaking out for justice, which has laid a bright future for themselves and the people they represent,” said one of its practitioners.
Falun Dafa said it has over 100 million practitioners in 114 countries.
The Chinese Communist Party, the governing party of China, has been persecuting Falun Dafa since 1999.
“The CCP has slandered Falun Dafa, and imprisoned and killed Falun Dafa practitioners,” the group said.
According to the group, in the first half of 2022, 366 Falun Dafa practitioners had been illegally sentenced by the CCP, and 2,707 Falun Dafa practitioners had been kidnapped and harassed.
