Earlier this month, the employees stripped the CR of its old and cracked paint mark the center and sides of the road.
In an earlier phone interview with Haninie Casiquin, Daewoo Office Engineer, the removal of the old and cracked paint and repainting of the CR was expected to be completed at the end of this month.According to workers at a section of the CR yesterday, the weather conditions have prevented them from keeping with the expected completion date.“The stripping of the paint was the hard part of the work,” said a worker. “However, we were able to perform the work in all weather conditions. Rain did not deter us from removing the old paint.”The workers further added that repainting the lines on the road is the easy part and should be done in no time, but “rain dictates when we could paint.”It has rained on and off since mid of this month and the workers have had to reschedule their paintingThe workers had indicated that rain will dictate how fast the painting will progress. They further added if it remains sunny, painting of the road could be completed in half the time it took to strip the road of the old paint. The repainting progresses at a rate of an average walking pace. It takes, according to the workers, as much time as a person walks from one point of the road to another. The workers were painting a section of the road in Ngaraard State yesterday.“If it remains sunny,” the workers said, “we would be able to repaint the whole road in no time.”
