The event was held in the Seaside Hall of the Saipan Grand Hotel on Nov. 20.
NMC expected only 80-90 participants.
NMC President Carmen Fernandez said they were very pleased with the high turnout.
Close to 50 individuals who attended the session submitted their filled-out application forms that evening, she added.
“We look forward meeting them on campus in January,” she said.
According to Fernandez, the information session provided prospective students and community members information about NMC, its degree and certificate programs, as well as its other services.
The event featured student speakers Jose Tudela, Joo Kee Kim and Hazel Handayan.
The participants also met with NMC staff as well as representatives from the CNMI Scholarship Office and the Saipan Higher Education Financial Assistance office.
The CNMI Scholarship Office is now offering financial assistance to full-time government and private sector employees who want to enroll in NMC on a part-time basis.
The financial assistance provided $800 per qualified student.
NMC offers several degree and certificate programs, including a bachelor of science degree in elementary education, associate degrees in business, liberal arts, nursing, natural resource management, criminal justice and hospitality management. It also offers certificate programs in different vocational, academic, and professional areas.
NMC recruitment team said “it would like to recognize the contributions of the Saipan Grand Hotel for hosting the event and DFS Saipan for providing prizes for raffle.”
