BPS Director Norvert H. Yano said that police officers will be deployed today to monitor the election and the liquor ban.
Yano said after 7 p.m., the public can sell and drink alcohol.The Director is also reminding the voters to go out of their house and exercise their rights to vote.“I am reminding them to observe the rules in the election and to vote peacefully. If they see any irregularities or if they see anyone selling or drinking alcohol please call police and report it immediately,” Yano said.The Director would also like to remind the supporters to stay away from the polling places during election.He said no campaigning and election signs within 500 feet away from the polling places.In a separate interview Patrol Division Chief Ismael Aguon is also asking the public’s help in maintaining the peace and order in Palau in exercising their rights to vote.Aguon said for police assistance, call 911.
