It all started were Overruled shooting in its highest percentage and putting up a score of 31 -17 by the end of the first half. Chris J. and Chris C. finished with a high score of 17 and 15, respectively, for team Overruled. They had all the momentum going for them during the first and second quarter until Julio, Leon, and Anloyd of Sam’s Sharks, who completed the game with 17, 14, and 18, respectively, and started a big run in the third and got their acts together with the rest of the team to score 31 points in the third quarter. Fourth quarter was then a see-saw battle involving the two teams who are hopeful to get to the next round of the playoffs. Shots were made back and forth as the clock ticked to its last minutes. In the end, Sam’s Sharks fell short of just a point giving the win to team Overruled, 67 – 66.
Earlier that night, the first game showcased a much fast paced game of President’s Men and Rainbow Runners were the Runners became triumphant, 86 – 82. Being behind ending the first quarter, 25 – 21, The Rainbow Runners huddled in the 2 minute in between break before going to the second. Evidently, the huddled paid off as the energy of the players got to high gear as they pose 23 points in the second quarter to gain the lead going to the second half of the game. From there, the Runners, living up to their name “run and gun,” never looked back as they led the entire second half and ultimately finish off the President’s Men. Merei, Maui, and Frankie did the high honors for the Rainbow Runners with, 30, 27, and 13 points, in that order. In fairness for the President’s Men, they tried to get back to the game with the help of Van’s 28 points, Jeff’s 11 points, and Burton’s 10 points for the entire game but were too late as the Runners worked the time in their favor. With the win of Rainbow Runners and Overruled, they have advanced to the next playoff round and wait for the results of the game that will occur as of press time.
