According to a press release issued by Adelbai Er a Udes Frank Kazuo Asanuma, he was instructed to inform the people of Melekeok State and all concerned that chief titles Sechalruliong and Ngirmang no longer have representation in BaiMelekeong.
The release states that Paramount Chief Reklai Rafael Bao Ngirmang, the head of BaiMelekeong had instructed Asanuma to formerly make the announcement about the vacated seats.
The release stipulates that Theodoro Rengulbai bearer of Sechalruliong and Moses Uludong bearer of Ngirmang have been dismissed from BaiMelekeong. However, no reasons pertaining to their dismissal were disclosed.
Asanuma states in the release that he was instructed to only inform the people of the vacancies. Further, all other matters relevant to the dismissal of Rengulbai and Uludong from BaiMelekeong shall be dispersed accordingly following the customs and traditional practices of Melekeok State.
Rengulbai and Uludong were candidates for the House of Delegates (HOD) in the recent General Election. Rengulbai ran for Melekeok’s seat in HOD and Uludong for Ngchesar’s seat.
Rengulbai and Uludong did not succeed in their bids. Moreover, they would have had to relinquish the chief titles they held, pursuant to law, had they won; and appropriate and rightful people would have been appointed to bear the titles Sechalruliong and Ngirmang and would have been, according to traditional practices, seated in BaiMelekeong.
