Patrol Division Chief Ismael Aguon said that the incidents happened on November 1 and 2 at different places in Palau.
Aguon said a car crash incident was reported on November 1 involving alcohol.He said at 6:26 p.m. on November 1, a female caller reported that a vehicle hit her car in Ngesaol road.The driver of the vehicle was pulled over by police and was found later to be under the influence of alcohol.The driver failed the test and was cited for DUI.There was no injury reported but only minor damages to the car.Also on Saturday at 12 midnight, a police officer was calling via a radio and reported that he was pursuing a vehicle speeding towards the Topside Mobil gas station.The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol.Aguon said that also on weekend, police arrested five minors for consumption of alcohol and curfew violations.He said the minors were arrested in Topside by the Mobil gas station at 11:51 p.m., Dngeronger at 1:45 am and 12:48 am, Ikelau at 3:25 am, Airai at 2:05 am and at the Malakal at 2:03 am during continued operations on November 1 and 2.Aguon said police are diligently looking at these incidents and is trying to prevent juvenile crimes and DUI by strictly enforcing the laws.
