Taotao Tano asks AGO to investigate ‘internship’ scheme

In his letter to acting Attorney General Gregory Baka, Cruz said  they are dismayed with Jay Kim and Simon Sin for recruiting the nurses.

Aside from collecting fees from the nurses, Cruz said the recruiters also tried to blame the CNMI government for not having an internship program at the Commonwealth Health Center.

Cruz also expressed skepticism about the nurses’ claim of passing the National Council Licensure Examination despite their inability to speak and write in English.

He wants to know how these nurses passed NCLEX if they are still studying English.

Passing NCLEX is a requirement for nurses who want to work in the U.S.

Nine of the nurses are now enrolled at the University of Loyola  to study English. Each paid $1,200.

One of the nurses who claimed to have taken her NCLEX in New York is reviewing English at her rented apartment.

Cruz urged the AGO to hold Kim and Sin responsible and accountable for “human smuggling.”

“The AGO is mum about the issue simply due to the involvement of the ex-deputy secretary of CHC who was the last person to communicate with these illegal recruiters,” Cruz said in his letter to Baka.
