SAIPAN-BORN Patricia Pangelinan Sablan, an AVID and AP honor student, has already received acceptance letters from several U.S. universities.
These include universities in Oregon, Arizona, Texas, Pennsylvania, Indiana and California including from Stanford University.
A student of Permian High School in Odessa, Texas, Patricia Sablan said: “I was kind of surprised because I’m not a senior yet. So why are they sending me these letters so early? Plus, I didn’t even apply to most of them. But I will always have faith in God — wherever He brings me I will trust in Him.”
Sablan, who turned 16 in November, said she plans to attend Texas Tech University and study medicine. She wants to be a pediatric doctor.
Her parents are Nadine Sablan and Joseph Babauta. Her grandmother, Kina Sablan, said: “We are so proud of her and I hope other children from CNMI will never be afraid to follow their dreams.”
