According to Bedebii Chiokai, BMS principal, BOG not only donated $2000, but also has pledged an annual donation to the endowment fund – in the same amount – for the next 4 years.
Chiokai further added that BOG would, over the next five years (inclusive of this year), have contributed a sum of $10,000 to BMS endowment fund.“Words fail me when it comes to expressing how grateful I am of the generous donation,” Chiokai said. “BOG’s donation is an indication of the bank’s sincere commitment to serve and a testament of its leadership’s character. I am, for lack of better words, humbled and deeply grateful.”The President of BOG, Ms. Lourdes Leon Guerrero, along with Mike Naho Iowaa, BOG Regional Manager, and Kathrine Roberto, BOG (Palau Branch) Manager presented to Chiokai and members of BMS school board the check on Wednesday to mark the initial installation of BOG’s 5-year pledge.In related news, BMS had earlier received contributions – in kind and monetary – during its 35th anniversary celebration that amounted to $24,178.14.According to Chiokai, state communities, businesses, organizations, and individuals have made significant donations that would ensure that the school continues to serve the people of Palau.Recognition and appreciation is bestowed to: (Individuals) Akemi Akiwo, Anathania Timarong, Berry Moon Watson, Celine Oiterong, Ciana Shiro, Del.
