9th Cycle Corrections Academy has 39 cadets

THIRTY-NINE cadets are undergoing training in the 9th Cycle Corrections Academy that was officially launched on May 31, 2022.

Corrections Commissioner Wally Villagomez said the last time the department had an academy was in 2019.

“The 9th Cycle Corrections Academy will run three to four months, and the target date for graduation will be the first week of September,” he added.

The 39 cadets went through a selection process, he said, adding that nine of them are females.

Through their partnership with Northern Marianas College, Villagomez said the cadets will also earn 40 college credits from NMC, and have the opportunity to earn earn a college degree if they so wish.
