Joaquin G. Adriano’s body was already in the initial stages of decomposition when discovered by his son at 2 p.m, according to Department of Public Safety Commissioner Santiago F. Tudela.
Police are still investigating the cause of death.
A former police official on Tinian, Adriano, a Republican, was elected to the House of Representatives in 1993 and won a second term in 1995.
In 1997, he was elected to the Senate and re-elected to another term in 2001.
He was the floor leader of the 13th Senate and was named president of the 14th Senate in 2004.
In 2005, he ran for Tinian mayor, but lost by 38 votes to Jose P. San Nicolas of the Covenant Party.
