7th Senate holds final session Tuesday

This sixth Day of the 37th Special Session offered a light Agenda for floor discussions. Except for an Investigative Report by the Committee on Health & Education on the Miscellaneous Communication item of the Agenda, this session presented a final opportunity for each senator to bid farewell and offer their final remarks in session, to their colleagues and to the constituents.

The outgoing senators delivered their final statements were to express gratitude for each other support during their terms.Although these final statements were general expressions of gratitude for each others’ support during the term, the senators also offered the expected emotional appeal for reconciliation for the times when differences in opinion may have strained their relationships within the Senate. Congratulatory remarks were extended to those elected to the 8th Olbiil Era Kelulau, while members who will leave the Senate at the end of the term “ shared their visions of a continuation of sound policies and new ideas for the betterment of our nation and its people.” Highlights of accomplishments during the term were mentioned as well.  After the adoption of a motion to Adjourn Sine Die, the 37th Special Session, a final echo of affirmation filled the Senate Chamber.  And as Floor Leader Alan Seid’s final motion to Adjourn Sine Die the work of the Senate of the 7th Olbiil Era Kelulau was unanimously adopted, we look forward to the contributions of the Senate, 8th Olbiil Era Kelulau under the leadership of soon to be Senate President Mlib Tmetuchl.
