“Educating the mind, without educating the heart is no education at all,” a quotation from Aristotle was Green Meadow School’s theme during the Recognition and Graduation program held in Taga Hall at World Resort on May 30, 2022.
Awards given to Ian Noel Escarcha, 1st grade, were as follows: Most Attentive, Best in Phonics, Language, Spelling, and Penmanship, Student of the Month of September, Citizenship Award, Leadership Award, and 1st Honor.
Thaddaeus Tolentino, 5th grade Salutatorian, thanked his parents and teachers for guiding him in his studies. He expressed his gratitude for the sacrifices his family have to make to send him in a great school-GMS.
Salutatorian Yel Khalil Ocampo, 8th grade, mentioned in his speech that he will treasure the memories he and his classmates have shared together. He said, “So as rain falls, time shall go, but whatever happens will remain in stone and this wasn’t rock but gold.”
In his valedictory address, Liam Roi S. Buston, Kinder 5 in Chalan Kiya, said, “For our future, the best foundation is education. In GMS learning is fun.”
Valedictorian Nathan Angelo M. Reyes, Kinder 5 in Gualo Rai, recalled the struggle they experienced during this pandemic and how GMS teachers, staff, and the parents worked hand-in-hand to make learning continue.
5th grade valedictorian Jasper Alfred Shem G. Cabaobas received the following recognition: Most Responsible, Best in Extra-Curricular Activities, Academic Excellence Award, 2nd Runner up in Schoolwide Spelling Bee, Student of the Month of September and May, Perfect Attendance, Leadership Award, and Principal’s Award.
8th Grade Valedictorian Ezra Kirsten Alexa Alfred talked about how her classmates and herself persevered even with the time full of masks, social distancing, online classes and the loss of special events and extracurricular activities.
