(Press Release) — American Memorial Park is hiring two Youth Conservation Corps or YCC interns to help conserve historic structures in the park.
The program offers an opportunity for youth 15-18 years of age to experience out-of-doors work projects and learning opportunities.
Projects include removing vegetation from World War II historic sites, repairing trails, clearing views, restoring historic artifacts, working with interpretative programs, and other tasks needed to help keep the park in great condition.
The YCC program will run from June 7, 2022, to August 6, 2022. Participants will be working 40 hours per week: Monday through Friday. The wage is at the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour.
This opportunity is open to citizens of the United States, Palau, Federated States of Micronesia, and the Marshall Islands.
Applicants must be at least 15 years of age by June 7, 2022, and no older than 18 years of age on August 6, 2022.
To apply, applicants must fill out an application and if not 18 years of age, have a parent’s or guardian’s signature.
Selected applicants will be contacted, and program participants will be selected at random with equal numbers of men and women.
Applications can be downloaded from NPS Form 10-29, or a copy can be picked up from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday at the American Memorial Park Visitor Center.
Completed applications are due by May 27, 2022, and may be emailed to jayson_tinney@nps.gov or dropped off at the visitor center:
