FIRE broke out at the Imperial Pacific International hotel-casino construction site in Garapan Monday morning, damaging construction and insulation materials, Variety learned.
As smoke billows from the IPI construction site in Garapan, a responding police officer is seen in the area late Monday morning.
Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services firefighters responded and extinguished the blaze before 12 noon.
The fire, which did not damage the IPI hotel-casino structure, started in the area where construction materials were located or stockpiled.
The cause of the fire was unknown, but fire investigators believed that extreme heat was a factor.
As of press time Monday evening, DFEMS had not issued a statement regarding the incident.
