“When I create a fitness program for my clients, I must first consider the individual’s age, body type, fitness goals, health background, and training experience,” he said.

It is highly important to match an individual’s training program with the person’s fitness level, age, body type, fitness goals and current abilities, he added.

As a professional fitness trainer, Diaz said he continues to train for, and obtain various certifications pertaining to fitness nutrition, Mat Pilates, movement principles, primal flows, boxing and sports-performance training so he can offer safe training options to his clients regardless of their age.

“For individuals 16 years old and below, I utilize bodyweight training that will allow them to build a solid fitness foundation before they explore higher level resistance training as they grow older,” Diaz said.

For young adults, Diaz recommends a fitness program that avoids overtraining.

As for older clients, Diaz helps them create and maintain a fitness routine that match their health goals.

“I want my clients to enjoy regular training through movements and resistance appropriate for their fitness level,” he added.

For beginners who want to start a fitness journey, Diaz said they should consult with their doctors first.

BBJ Athletics client Karena Torres said it is “important to develop a healthy mindset in order to understand what motivates you…. Whether your goal is to feel or look stronger, lose weight, or to live a healthier life, having a positive attitude is something that will encourage you to focus and be in tune with what your body wants/needs in the moment.”

Ella Stephanson, another BBJ Athletics client, said a regular  exercise routine can improve one’s immunity, reduce the risk of disease and help build a healthier body.
