Minister of Justice John C. Gibbons in a public notice announcement yesterday stated that the rifle was last seen in early December of 2008 in the trunk of a government Lexus sedan that was assigned to and used by former President Tommy Remengesau at his home in Medalaii, Koror.
Minister Gibbons stated in his public notice announcement that a reward of $5,000 was offered earlier for any information leading to the recovery of the rifle or arrest of the person responsible for the theft of the rifle.That reward as announced, has been raised to $10,000.The announcement however stipulates that any person who personally produces the rifle to the Director of Public Safety, shall receive a reward of $5,000 only his or her identity will not be publicly known.
