Palau Senate president wants media cameras out of chamber

Senate Resolution 8-31 will amend the Senate rule of procedure regarding sessions, debate, decorum and discipline.

The resolution has been referred to the Committee of the Whole.The new rule states that “members of the press and other representatives of the public communication media desiring to report the proceedings of the Senate to the public may be admitted to the Senate by the president.  The president may assign such persons to a place and facilities which will not interfere with the operation of the Senate. Provided, however, that no person, whether a representative of the public communication media or otherwise, may videotape or film in the Senate chambers.”
