First of all, it was announced a numerous amount of times in the Marianas Variety. I am not certain on what the dates but I remember them saying that they were open to any students of the CNMI. I, personally, did not see it, but my dad did. He was the one who told me to jump on the opportunity even though I was already up for it. The only problem I had was whether to turn in all the documents to the former Washington Rep. Pete A. Tenorio or to our CNMI Congressman Greg Sablan. In the end, the situation was sorted out.
The main thing that I do want to point out is that this opportunity was open to all the islands of the CNMI. I remember that a speaker from the Naval Academy came to our school telling us that he was from the island of Tinian. Again, our Congressman Greg Sablan doesn’t represent just Saipan but all the islands that make up the CNMI.
