ON April 23, 2022, Saipan Southern High School’s Manta Ray cadets participated in their very last islandwide cleanup event of school year 2021-2022. The cadets conducted a clean up at Pakpak Beach from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. But they were at the site at 7:30 a.m. to be briefed by their leaders and instructor about the rules, and the areas to clean up. The cadets were divided into two groups: one cleaned up the north and the other the south side area of the beach. A total of 47 cadets participated in this cleanup event and gathered about 10 trash bags.
As soon as the two areas of the beach were cleaned up, the cadets gathered all the trash bags that needed to be disposed of. Once again, the Manta Ray cadets are proud to be able to participate in cleanup events which help beautify our beaches and conserve our environment.
