President Johnson Toribiong said that they are awaiting the U.S. government’s reply and he is optimistic that Palau’s request will be looked upon with favor.
The FAA has provided assistance to Palau for airport and facilities improvement.A FAA grant aid assistance was used for the design and construction of improvements to the taxiway and the two aircraft parking aprons. Earlier, additional funds were granted by FAA for the design of a new terminal building. to replace the existing one.FAA assistance will expire when the economic terms of the Compact expires Oct. this year.
