670 Magas Babes have been crowned the women’s division champions of the 2025 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball League after sweeping the Batties in a best-of-three series finale on Sunday at the Dandan Ball Field.

The first game was intense as both teams showed their hunger for the title.

The Babes opened the top of the first inning with determination. Kiana Camacho sparked the offense with a double that advanced Amy Cabrera to third, putting her in scoring position. Rachel Salalila followed with a single-turned-RBI, bringing Cabrera home for the game’s first run.

The Batties tried to halt the momentum with consecutive outs, but the Babes struck again. Under pressure, Jenn Palacios delivered a 2-RBI single, stretching the lead before the inning ended, 4-0.

The Babes’ offensive surge was tested in the bottom of the first as pitcher Janice Celis struggled to find the strike zone, walking three batters to load the bases. The Batties capitalized, with Sonia Isaac hitting a two-RBI single and Marissa Cepeda adding an RBI double to narrow the gap, 4-3, after one complete inning.

That rally, however, was short-lived. The Batties went quiet for the rest of the game, while the Babes steadily rebuilt their cushion. Camacho added a two-RBI single in the second inning, while Edi Benjamin and Lyn Naputi each chipped in RBI doubles in the fourth, extending the lead to 8-3.

The Batties held firm through the fourth and fifth innings, but the Babes slipped in one run in the sixth and another in the seventh to seal their first win, 10-3.

Game 2

Riding their momentum, the Babes turned in a near-flawless performance in Game 2.

They exploded in the bottom of the first with six runs, highlighted by 2-RBI singles from Celis and Naputi to establish control, 6-0.

The Batties managed two runs in the top of the second, but that would be their only highlights of the game as the Babes’ defense shut them down the rest of the way.

Meanwhile, the Babes continued to dominate at the plate — adding eight runs in the second, three in the third, and seven more in the fourth to cruise to a 24-2 victory. With the win, the Babes completed a 2-0 series sweep and secured the women’s division championship title.
