OVER 400 joined the Saipan Marianas Lions Club’s 4th Annual 5K Walkathon at the Carolinian Village in Garapan on May 1.
Members of M2 Fitness Strong Zumba Movers conducted a 30-minute Zumba prior to the start of the walkathon at 6 a.m.
The proceeds of the fundraising fitness event will be donated to the Commonwealth Cancer Association and the Northern Mariana Islands Football Association.
“I would like to give my heartfelt thanks to all the donors and the people who participated in the walkathon, and to our hardworking club members and officers — without all of you, this event would not have been successful,” Saipan Marianas Lions Club President Lolita Velasco said.
She also thanked Lions Club District 204, the other Lions Club on Saipan and the M2 Fitness members.
“We are looking forward to more events that will help our community,” she added.
The sponsors and donors of the event included D&Q International Distributors, Carolinian Affairs Office, Saipan Fitbeat Lions Club, Commonwealth Healthcare Corp., Northern Marianas College nursing students, Marpac Distributors, Graphics Inc., Triple J Super Fresh & Truckload Store, Chow Time, Pacific Trading, City Trust, Star Water, Chang Mind Market and the Tan Siu Lin Foundation.
The Saipan Marianas Lions Club is likewise thankful for the support of the Saipan Fil-American Lions Club, the Saipan Unity Lions Club, the Saipan Alliance Lions Club, the Saipan Centennial Lions Club, the Saipan Pacific Lions Club and the Saipan Fitbeat Lions Club.
