THE Tan Siu Lin Foundation supports a fundraising golf tournament that will benefit the Karidat charitable organization.
TSL Foundation executive director Merlie Tolentino presented a $5,000 donation to Marianas Variety president Amier C. Younis in support of the MV Founder’s Memorial Golf Tournament which will be held Saturday morning, April 2, at the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort in celebration of MV’s 50th anniversary and in honor of its founder and former publisher, the late Abed E. Younis.
“On behalf of the management and staff of Marianas Variety, we would like to thank TanHoldings and the Tan Siu Lin Foundation for supporting our event,” Amier C. Younis said.
He said the tournament will raise funds for Karidat Social Services which provides help to the community through its food pantry program, rental assistance, and other initiatives that benefit low-income families and victims of violence and natural disaster.
“There’s a lot of history between Marianas Variety’s founder and Karidat,” Amier C. Younis said. “The late Mr. Abed Younis was a former board member of Karidat and also an avid golfer, so it’s really fitting that we have this event to honor him and we have his non-profit group as our beneficiary.”
Tolentino, for her part, congratulates Marianas Variety for its milestone. She also acknowledged the publishing company’s contributions to the community since 1972.
