(Commonwealth Utilities Corporation) — There will be a scheduled water service interruption on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Areas affected: Portions of China Town and As Falipe (Commonwealth Dr., Komiti Ave., and Sugar King Rd.)
Purpose: To allow CUC’s contractor, Tropex Garden, to connect a new six-inch water line to the existing eight-inch water main as part of the Commonwealth Drive Waterline Phase I Installation Project
Motorists are advised to reduce speeds and exercise caution while driving in the area or taking alternative routes. Customers in the area will experience low to no water pressure between the specified hours. Allow one to two hours for the water lines to pressurize fully.
About the project
The Commonwealth Drive Waterline Phase I Installation Project is funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The project will replace the old two-inch waterlines with new PVC pipes and decommission the As Falipe Booster Pump in China Town and As Falipe. This upgrade will improve water service reliability and provide safe, consistent water to As Falipe and China Town customers.
CUC appreciates the public’s cooperation and understanding as it works to ensure reliable service for its customers.
