Dr. Cruz will deliver his remarks at 1 p.m. on the opening day of the Summit.
He will address the current efforts of the Guam Civilian Military Task Force and discuss the growing need for a regional approach to the economic challenges facing the Mariana islands.
Cruz will be accompanied by his chief of staff, former Guam Sen. Carlotta A. Leon Guerrero, KMCV’s former news director.
According to CNMI Secretary of Commerce Michael Ada, “The objective of the summit is to bring together key stakeholders of the CNMI community and selected industry experts to discuss and determine a roadmap for developing new industries to help us pick up the CNMI economy. The development of new industries for the CNMI is vitally important at this time. This conference will help bring together CNMI resources, both public and private, in order to support entrepreneurs who make a commitment to participate in our revitalization.”
