Dawn Princess calls on Saipan

The ship, which brought over 800 crewmembers and over 1,800 passengers, docked at 7 a.m. and departed at 6 p.m. yesterday.

Saipan is Dawn Princess’ fifth to the last port of call before it heads back to Brisbane, Australia.

Dawn Princess Passenger Services Director Peter Pratt said the ship left Australia on March 17, and is expected to return there on April 18.

From Saipan, Dawn Princess will make a brief stopover on Guam, proceed to Chuuk, and to Papua New Guinea before heading back to Brisbane.

Prior to its Saipan stopover, Dawn Princess had  called on Kota Kinabalu, Shanghai, Pusan, Osaka, Yokohama and other places.

Dawn Princess is the fifth luxury vessel to visit Saipan for this year, according to Commonwealth Ports Authority seaport manager Maryann Q. Lizama.

Lizama said  the passengers of Dawn Princess were mostly Australians.

Saipan Shipping Co. handled the scheduling and other needs of Dawn Princess during its brief stopover.

Dawn Princess is the second ship in the line’s Sun class style of vessels, which also include Sea Princess and Sun Princess.  Joining the send-off party for the Dawn Princess yesterday were the personnel from the Pacific Development Inc. Saipan Stevedoring, Saipan Shipping, Port of Saipan and ports police officers.
