Letter to the Editor: Questions to all candidates

We the people of the commonwealth must make the right choices this November for the betterment of our people and our homeland.

These are the questions that need serious and honest answers from all the candidates:

CUC fuel surcharge: Where would you find the subsidy funding for the revenue shortfall should you plan to remove the FUEL SURCHARGES? Is your plan a permanent one? Or is it a means to confuse and manipulate the already suffering, oppressed and depressed community in order to win in November? Tapping into MPLT’s investments is off-limits to anyone without the will and consent of the majority of the indigenous NMD’s.

MPLA: The Covenant administration abolished MPLA and reported millions of dollars in gross negligence and mismanagement to include huge scandals in land compensation and land grabbing by self-interest individuals. Will you investigate and prosecute immediately those individuals listed in the recent Office of the Public Auditors audit reports or will you cover up for those involved for they are family and close political constituents?

Retirement Fund: What is your proposal to save all those retirees and future retirees who faithfully vested their contributions to the Retirement Fund? Our Constitution states clearly that membership in the employee retirement system of the commonwealth shall constitute a contractual relationship. Accrued benefits of this system shall be neither diminished nor impaired! Again MPLT investments are off-limits.

We would like your answers to these important and critical questions in writing, notarized, signed and recorded at the clerk of courts and a certified copy mailed to TAOTAO TANO P.O. Box 50-4030 C.K. to include copies provided to the local media to ensure that such PROMISES are executed and carried out faithfully and honestly.

We would like your answers before May 5. If we do not receive your prompt response then you have no business seeking public office.

GREGORIO CRUZ JR.
