Kagman JROTC holds change of command ceremony

The program, he added, also creates a favorable attitude and impression toward the nation’s armed forces.

“Many of you cadets participate in extracurricular activities such as drill competitions so let’s congratulate all of you for participating in the annual drill competition,” Ada said during the Ayuyu Battalion’s change of command ceremony.

He said he was impressed with the leadership training of the JROTC because it helps develop good citizenship and patriotism.

The training, he added, helps students develop self-reliance, leadership and responsiveness.

It also improves the students’ ability to communicate well both orally and in writing, he said.

The JROTC program, moreover, enables students to develop an appreciation of the importance of physical fitness, Ada said.

Through the program, he added, students learn more about basic military security, which increases their respect for the role played by U.S. armed forces protecting the nation.

Ada said the change of command signifies another successful year and is a tribute to the program’s departing seniors.

The outgoing battalion commander, Cadet Lt. Col Jessica R. Babauta turned over the command to Cadet Maj. Jhumilyn S. Esposo.

The cadet chain of command of Kagman High School’s Ayuyu Battalion includes Battalion Command Sgt. Maj. Joy Borja; XO Cadet Maj Jhumilyn S. Esposo; S-1 Cadet 1Lt. Harlotte Ulechong; S-2 Cadet 2Lt Chrystal Santos; S-3 Cadet 1Lt Debra Buekis; S-4 Cadet Capt. Raphael Dowai; S-5 Cadet Capt. Ludale Camacho; HQ Company commander, Cadet Capt. Conchtina Manibusan; Alpha Company commander, Cadet Capt. George Cabaobas; and Bravo Company commander, Cadet Capt Craig Chargualaf.

The event was witnessed by CNMI JROTC Director of Army Instructions Lt. Col Robert Gray; KagHS JROTC Senior Army Instructor retired MSgt. James R. Burke; KagHS JROTC Army Instructor retired MSgt. Juan C. Salas; Education Commissioner Rita A. Sablan; and members of the Board of Education.
