Letter to the Editor: Suspensions

But knowing the facts about the school administration’s actions, I feel that my safety and protection on school campus is ensured.

Galvin Guerrero said the high school administration is not doing its job, but  “abusing” its power instead of implementing “day to day” disciplinary procedures before suspending students.

How does he know this?

At Marianas High School, rules have been enforced since 2005. I have seen the progress made by the school administration regarding  the disciplinary suspension of students.

Hence, I find Guerrero’s statements false.

I have been at MHS for the past three years, and I have witnessed how the school administration conducts  disciplinary procedures and takes action everyday.

Our school handbook is our school policy. We comply with the rules every day and the school administration makes sure that we follow through with it.

If Guerrero says the increase of school suspension is a problem, then he does not see that the school principal and faculty have to make day to day decisions best suited for the school and for the students’ protection.

I understand Guerrero is trying to get the public informed about these issues. However, he should realize that school administrators make decisions to ensure a safe environment for learning and for the protection of the students.
