CHC, medical referral record $5M deficit

The medical referral program had an allotment of $3,886 for non-personnel or “all others” cost, which the report said indicates an “extensive” decrease in FY 2009.

The fund status report showed that Public Health spent a total of $4.1 million on medical referrals.

Although it did not overspend its $384,000 personnel allotment, the medical referral program’s $4.1 million expenditure resulted in total expenses of $4.4 million against an allotment of only $388,000.

This resulted in a deficit of $4 million.

For CHC, the “all others” allotment was $3.3 million but the expenditure totaled $6 million.

Since only $10 million was spent from  the $11 million allotment for personnel, the “all others” deficit amounted to $1.6 million.

The report noted an increase in allotment for the third quarter of FY 2009.

However, the report said CHC’s current expenses for personnel covers only the April payroll.

Since there are still two months to cover, there will be a deficit in the personnel account once the May and June payrolls come out.

Public Health said it has obligated over $1 million for hemodialysis supplies and equipment, services and other important expenditures of the hospital.
