Speaker Isaac Figir said they informed Mori that “Congress is not ready to receive you…until further consultation between our two offices upon which a more appropriate time may be decided.”
Mori had previously communicated to Congress that he was “prepared to deliver the Second State of the Nation Message for my administration to the Congress and to the nation on May 13 at 10 a.m.”
Congressional leaders were visiting the president to determine a date and time for the address.
